The reason safety training is necessary is that these vehicles do not work like / handle like anything that has ever been manufactured before their invention. Meaning that an operator cannot count on what they think they know about operating this unique type of vehicle.
By the very design of the OHVs, illusions are created that an operator must be made aware of.
ATV and UTV safety training is essential. A court-qualified ATV / UTV Expert and trainer will tell you that thousands of ATV and UTV accidents happen every year, even on relatively easy terrain when riders / drivers do not make it to the top of a hill and then have to back down in an unsteady fashion that can actually even become treacherous. When a rider / driver has not practiced this maneuver in advance, they will be unprepared to ensure their safety. The rider/driver will find themselves needing to back down a hill after they did not make it all the way to the top, as expected. This greatly increases the risk of operating an ATV or a UTV. Choose to ensure your safety by securing training from a qualified instructor who understands your experience level, your existing capabilities, your training goals, the machine you’ll use, and the areas you’ll be riding.
